Recently, I came across this podcast by Jay Shetty- "Optimise your energy". He is a motivational speaker and author of a book called "Think like a monk". I quite like his insights as he shares how we can look to nature to gain a better understanding of life.

In the podcast, he talks about how we have different seasons in our lives, just as there are different seasons in a year.
Summer is when we feel energetic and brimming with ideas.
Fall is when we slow down and evaluate what to let go of.
Winter is a time of reflection and rest.
Spring is a time to start afresh.
Sometimes I'm afraid to admit that I feel like I've been in winter for a long time. But I think we all have been there... a point in our lives when we feel like there's just so many Murphys in the room and everything isn't going as planned.
If that's you, welcome to the winter wonderland. And trust me, it's not great, but it's not all that bad.
I've learnt to just be. There is no need to pander to anyone. It's a time to slow down, hibernate a little, and gather your energy. Do what is best for you. And for once, the world and all its promises seem less enticing. I just wanna sit with my cuppa and breathe.
There is a magic about winter as long as we've got the right clothes on!

So take heart.
You're not alone.
Breathe.
You got this...
... and get yourself some warm clothes.
